How Much Does a Dental Implant Cost in Prague?

Dental implants offer a modern, long-term solution for replacing missing teeth. However, the total cost involves more than the implant itself. The final price depends on diagnostic examinations, jawbone condition, the type of dental restoration and any additional procedures required. At Stomatologické centrum Anděl in Prague 5, we use Swiss-made Straumann implants, with implant placement starting from CZK 20,700. Here is what determines the total cost and what you should know before starting treatment.

What Is Included in the Cost of a Dental Implant?

When comparing dental implant prices, it is important to distinguish between the cost of implant placement and the cost of replacing a complete tooth. The implant replaces the missing tooth root, while a prosthetic crown forms the visible part of the restoration.

Treatment generally involves several stages:

  • Initial consultation and diagnostics: assessment of your teeth, gums and jawbone, potentially including a 3D CBCT scan.
  • Implant placement: surgical insertion of a titanium implant into the jawbone.
  • Healing and healing components: the period during which the implant integrates with the bone, with soft-tissue management where necessary.
  • Prosthetic restoration: fabrication and attachment of the final crown using an appropriate connecting component.
  • Additional procedures if required: such as bone grafting or soft-tissue treatment to create suitable conditions for implant placement.

When comparing treatment quotes, always check which procedures are included and which are charged separately.

How Much Does a Dental Implant Cost at Stomatologické centrum Anděl?

At our clinic, we use the Straumann implant system, produced by one of the world's established dental implant manufacturers.

According to our current price list:

Pre-implant consultation: CZK 2,250. This amount is deducted from the implant placement fee if you proceed with treatment.

Straumann implant placement: from CZK 20,700.

3D CBCT scan: CZK 1,200–1,600 depending on the area examined, when charged separately.

The implant placement fee does not represent the full cost of replacing a tooth. The final price also includes the prosthetic restoration, particularly the connecting component and crown, as well as any additional procedures required.

A complete single-tooth replacement with an implant and crown may therefore cost approximately CZK 40,000, depending on your individual treatment plan. This is an indicative figure rather than a fixed quotation.

We always determine the final price following a clinical examination. Before treatment begins, we explain the proposed procedures and expected costs.

What Factors Affect the Final Implant Cost?

1. Jawbone Condition and Volume

Successful implant placement requires sufficient bone volume and suitable bone quality. After a tooth is lost, the surrounding jawbone may gradually shrink, sometimes making implant placement more complicated.

If there is insufficient bone, a bone grafting procedure may be necessary. In the upper back jaw, a sinus lift may sometimes be required to create enough space for the implant.

These additional procedures can increase both the cost and duration of treatment. However, they are not necessary for every patient.

2. Implant Brand and System

Dental implant systems differ in design, materials, availability of components and the extent of supporting clinical evidence.

At Stomatologické centrum Anděl, we use Straumann implants. Our choice reflects our emphasis on quality, documented long-term clinical outcomes and the availability of prosthetic components.

Price should therefore not be the only consideration when choosing an implant. Careful treatment planning, clinical expertise and access to long-term follow-up care are equally important.

3. Crown Type and Prosthetic Restoration

Once the implant has healed, the final dental restoration can be fitted. The price varies depending on the material, attachment method and complexity of fabrication.

Beyond appearance, the restoration must provide an accurate fit, a comfortable bite and allow effective daily cleaning.

At Stomatologické centrum Anděl, our in-house dental laboratory enables close collaboration between our dentists and dental technicians when designing and producing individual restorations.

4. Number of Missing Teeth

If several teeth are missing, it is not always necessary to replace each tooth with a separate implant. In some cases, implants can support a dental bridge or a more extensive prosthetic restoration.

The number of implants required depends on your anatomy, the extent of tooth loss and the functional requirements of the final restoration.

Why Is 3D Imaging Important Before Implant Placement?

Careful planning is essential for successful dental implant treatment.

At Stomatologické centrum Anděl, we use 3D CBCT imaging when clinically indicated. This technology provides detailed three-dimensional images of the jawbone and surrounding anatomical structures.

It allows us to assess the available bone, locate important nerves and evaluate the position of the maxillary sinus in relation to the planned implant.

Based on these findings, we can plan the implant's dimensions, position and surgical approach more accurately. Our aim is to achieve safe placement and suitable conditions for the final restoration.

Are Dental Implants Covered by Health Insurance in the Czech Republic?

Routine replacement of a missing tooth with a dental implant is generally not covered by Czech public health insurance. Patients usually pay for the implant and the associated prosthetic restoration themselves.

Exceptions may apply in certain medically justified cases under the applicable reimbursement rules.

Before treatment, we explain the expected costs and any relevant reimbursement options.

Is a Dental Implant Worth the Investment?

A dental implant may involve a higher initial cost than some alternative tooth replacement options. One of its main advantages is the ability to restore chewing function and a natural appearance without grinding down healthy neighbouring teeth.

Implants are designed to provide a long-term solution. However, their actual lifespan depends on several factors, including gum health, general medical conditions, smoking, daily oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups.

Like natural teeth, implants require consistent care. Inadequate cleaning can lead to inflammation around the implant and, in more advanced cases, loss of the supporting bone.

We therefore recommend regular dental examinations and professional dental hygiene appointments, with the frequency tailored to each patient's individual needs.

How Can You Find Out the Exact Cost of Your Dental Implant?

The exact cost of implant treatment cannot be reliably determined without an examination. It depends primarily on your jawbone condition, the number of missing teeth and the type of prosthetic restoration selected.

During an implant consultation at Stomatologické centrum Anděl, we assess your situation, explain the available treatment options and prepare an individual treatment plan with estimated costs.

Our aim is to ensure that you understand the proposed treatment, expected timeline and financial commitment before proceeding.
